My Angels

Safely Home
|
|
I am home in heaven, dear ones,
Oh, so happy and so bright!
There is perfect joy and beauty
In this everlasting light,
All the pain and grief is over,
Every restless tossing passed;
I am now at peace forever,
Safely home in heaven at last.

What moves through us is a silence, a quiet sadness, a longing for one more day,
one more word, one more touch, we may not understand why you left this earth so soon,
or why you left before we were ready to say good-bye, but little by little, we begin to remember
not just that you died, but that you lived. And that your life gave us memories too beautiful to forget.

God saw you getting tired And the cure was not to be.
So He put His arms around you
And whispered,"Come to Me."
With tearful eyes we watched you
And saw you pass away.
Although we loved you dearly
We could not make you stay.
That gold heart stopped beating
Hard working hands at rest,
God broke our hearts to prove to us
He only takes the best!
Do not stand by my grave and weep
I am not there. I do not sleep
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am a diamond glint on snow.
I am the sunlight on the ripened grain
I am the gentle Autumn rain.
When you awake in the morning hush,
I am the swift uplifting rush.
Of quiet bird in circling flight,
I am the soft starshine at night.
Do not stand by my grave and cry,
I am not there...I did not die!
